Nomads of climate change by nick stath depicts a bleak future of rising sea levels

Designboom_ for his latest work, melbourne-based artist nick stath illustrates the disastrous effects of rising sea levels in a not so distant future. titled ‘nomads of climate change’, the illustrated story presents a somber picture where homes have been washed away. a world where people have returned to being nomadic in order to escape the frequent flooding.

nick stath‘s story follows a young couple that travels north in order to search for a new home, all the while facing the unrelenting challenges of survival. to escape the rising water levels, they head to higher ground to seek shelter as violent storms become more and more frequent.

this future depicts a fictional, yet very bleak world where peoples’ homes have been altered to survive the effects of climate change. the story proposes the question of how might we act as a species when mother nature eventually turns against us. stath questions, ‘how might we evolve when everything has been taken from us, and how would we live?’
