Dr. Hadi Jamali (1950–2025) was a significant figure in contemporary Iranian art. He earned his degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Art and completed his Master’s in Industrial Design at Azad University, where he later served as a faculty member. He was also a member of the Iranian Veteran Artists Institute.
Throughout his artistic career, Jamali created a distinctive body of abstract expressionist paintings, drawing inspiration from Iranian architectural elements and diverse textures. His works, characterized by a deeply personal and poetic visual language, reflect his lived experiences, emotions, and memories. His innovative use of materials such as aluminum sheets, copper, and velvet added unique sensory and symbolic dimensions to his art.
In addition to his creative practice, Jamali was actively involved in teaching, judging art events, and authoring educational books in the fields of design, architectural sketching, and industrial design. His works have been exhibited in numerous reputable domestic and international exhibitions and are held in various private and institutional collections.
