Entries are now open for the Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize 2025, celebrating the best in new portrait photography.
The Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize is one of the most important and anticipated photography competitions in the world and a showcase for both celebrated professionals and talented amateurs.
Photographers are encouraged to interpret ‘portrait’ in its widest sense, with photography focused on portraying people with an emphasis on their identity as individuals, with prizes ranging from £2,000 to £15,000.
The competition celebrates a diverse range of images and tells the fascinating stories behind the creation of works, from formal commissioned portraits to more spontaneous and intimate moments capturing friends and family. The selected images, many of which are on display for the first time, explore both traditional and contemporary approaches to the photographic portrait whilst capturing a range of characters, moods and locations.
Entry is open to photographers of all levels. The competition explores both traditional and contemporary approaches to the photographic portrait.
Each photographer can submit up to six photographs.
Previous first prize-winners, since and including 2008, are not eligible to enter the competition.

Entry Fee
Each entry costs £22 with the maximum amount of entries being 6 per artist.
