5th Barcelona Human Rights International Photo Festival
Submissions are now open for the 5th edition of the BCN-DH Photography Contest, the Barcelona International Photography Festival on Human Rights and Global Justice.
Organized by the Associació Catalana per la Pau (ACP) and Mas Retina, this international initiative seeks to discover, recognize, and promote outstanding photographic projects that engage with themes of human rights and global justice. Projects that incorporate a strong gender perspective will receive special consideration from the jury.
Through the powerful medium of photography, the contest aims to shed light on pressing global issues and explore their underlying causes. By doing so, it strives to create spaces for public reflection and informed dialogue, fostering a critical and engaged citizenry capable of contributing to today’s most urgent debates.
The contest consists of four categories: social justice, gender justice, climate justice, and economic justice. Between two and three projects will be selected from each category, ensuring a diverse and comprehensive representation of justice-related issues. Each category is fully detailed in the official contest guidelines.
A jury will select ten projects, which will be showcased in a large-scale outdoor exhibition on the streets of Barcelona from 1 December 2025, to 10 January 2026. These works will also be featured in the official 2025 contest catalog.
Photographers, both professional and amateur, of legal age and of any nationality, are eligible to participate.
