This Modern House Was Built On The Rooftop Of An Apartment Building

contemporist_WARchitect has designed a modern wood house on top of an apartment building in Bangkok, Thailand.

Previously, the rooftop was only used to keep water tanks, leaving a lot of empty space, so the owner wished to build a small house there for his own use.

To avoid creating a contrast between this house and the apartment below, the architects designed the house setback from the edge of the building so that no one could see it from public roads
.

The wood house, which also features plenty of glass walls, has an open living room and dining room.

The home has continuous wood ceilings and walls that flows from the interior of the home to the exterior.

The kitchen, located off the dining room, has floating wood cabinets and access to a small courtyard with a tree.

One of the bedrooms is located behind the television wall in the living room, with a pocket door providing access. In the bedroom, hidden lighting creates a soft glow and relaxing atmosphere.

Another bedroom is has a sliding sliding glass door that opens up to the outdoor space, where the concrete rooftop has been covered pebbles.

In one of the bathrooms, simple white accents break up the wood interior, while a backlit mirror and a floor-to-ceiling window make sure there’s enough light.
