The Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2025 represents the eighth edition of this international award, dedicated to celebrating the highest standards of craftsmanship. Originating from Loewe’s roots as a collective craft workshop established in 1846, this annual competition underscores the cultural significance of craftsmanship and its evolving role in modern society. Each year, the prize attracts submissions from exceptionally talented artisans worldwide, showcasing diverse skills and creativity in various craft disciplines.
Participants are invited to submit their entries by October 30, 2024, with the winning and shortlisted works to be exhibited in Madrid in the Spring of 2025. The selection process is rigorous, with a distinguished panel of artists, essayists, and curators evaluating submissions based on originality, artistic vision, technical proficiency, material excellence, and innovative value. This esteemed panel is tasked with identifying up to 30 finalists whose works embody the spirit of the prize—merging tradition with contemporary innovation. The prize not only highlights individual achievements but also fosters a global appreciation for the transformative power of craft.
The prize offers significant incentives, including a cash award of 50,000 euros for the winner and 5,000 euros each for two special mentions. Eligibility
Open to professional artisans aged 18 and older from any nationality.
Prize
The winner of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2025 will receive a cash award of 50,000 euros. Additionally, the shortlisted and winning works will be exhibited and featured in an accompanying catalogue in Madrid in Spring 2025. Two special mentions will each receive 5,000 euros.
